Rogosin IGT Awarded CAP Accreditation in Recognition of Excellence

The Rogosin Institute Immunogenetics and Transplantation Laboratory (IGT), established in 1985, is one of the largest solid organ immunogenetics laboratories in the United States. Today, Rogosin IGT serves seven major transplant centers in the NewYork metropolitan area, providing laboratory support for kidney, pancreas, heart, liver, lung, face, and small intestine transplants.  We are pleased to announce that our IGT was awarded accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

“Rogosin IGT was already accredited by the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics and we are very proud of achieving CAP accreditation as well,” says Vijay K. Sharma, PhD, Laboratory Director.  “It is truly a measure of excellence.”

The CAP accreditation process is designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients.  Their on-site survey includes inspection of the laboratory’s records and quality control procedures, as well as an examination of laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program, and overall management.
